The Arizona Wing Commemorative Air Force Aviation Museum provides a personal look at Air Force and flight history. There is a variety of restored airplanes on site, and visitors may even see a war bird fly by! A few of the exhibits at this museum include the Chow Hound exhibit, which educates on the B-17 fortress that was lost in action during WWII, Enemy Artifacts, the Triumph Over Adversity Exhibit that honors the Tuskegee Airmen, and an exhibit that pays tribute to the 1,074 women that were Air Force Service Pilots.
From June to September, the museum is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. From October to May, it’s open every day from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. They are closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. Admission is $10 for adults (13+), $3 for kids (5-12), $9 for seniors (62+), and kids under 5 are free.
The Mesa Arts Center is home to the visual art exhibition space, Mesa Contemporary Arts. The museum has five galleries and showcases of contemporary art. The center also offers lectures, art workshops, and a volunteer docent program. Exhibits are always changing, but popular past topics include the American Dream, Bipolar, Dogs of Ron Burns, and AZ Catalyst.
