How Much Does the RV Cost?

Determining the cost of an RV isn’t an easy task. Generally, the cost depends on several factors such as the RV type, RV class, additional costs, and included features.

Here’s how the cost of an RV is calculated:

  • There are class A, B, and C types of RVs available and the class A tends to cost more than the other ones.
  • There are costs involved including the sales tax, long-term costs, and maintenance costs.
  • In case it includes any additional features, the cost hikes up.

Rv’s are unquestionably the best way to explore the hook and corner of the world in an adventurous way. These are the basic ways how the cost of an RV is calculated.

If you feel the RV lifestyle might be a fit for you but have never owned one, how do you get started?

The first thing to do is to decide which type of RV you would like to purchase. This will be greatly influenced by how you envision your lifestyle. Plus, there are many kinds of RVs to choose from.

Below are the basic categories:

Motorhomes (including bus conversions): These come in three classes:

  • Class A  (the largest)
  • Class B  (van chassis)
  • Class C (extended section over the cab.)

These are what people usually think of when they visualize an RV. The unit houses a combined vehicle and living quarters. They can be very large with luxurious appointments. In fact, these vehicles are associated with athletes and entertainers who use them to travel from site to site.

Travel Trailers: These are living units that are towed. They come in all shapes and sizes from fifth wheels to pop-up campers. Travel trailers are towed behind the vehicle. Fifth wheels contain a gooseneck in the front that gets connected to the hitch on the towing vehicle.

Truck Camper: This is where the living quarters are in the back of a pick-up truck cab.

Spend some time looking around at what appeals to you. If you’re thinking of being a full timer, make sure it will be comfortable for you.
